Practice
We all know that practice makes perfect. Most Taekwondo clubs are also opened every day of the week, providing their students with many opportunities to reinforce what they have learned. However, at Dove Taekwondo, we only have class twice each week, and therefore we must stress the importance of practice on your own time.
As you move up in rank towards black belt, you are always responsible for demonstrating all that you have learned up to that point. This does not mean that you can forget about any patterns that you have already learned, breaking techniques, one-step self-defense, sparring or even attitude. At anytime the instructor may ask you to teach and show a more junior belt their techniques. Even your attitude in class is reflected towards others.

Training
You will learn not only through instruction, but also through observing, listening, doing and practicing. Always be aware, observe and listen if you wish to gain the most benefit from each lesson. When in doubt – ASK. Do not wander around in a state of confusion for you may be developing incorrect techniques or bad habits. Other beginners may also be experiencing the same problem. No problem is new to Taekwondo. We have all experienced, or still experience difficulties at times. Instructors and senior belts are happy to answer questions and share their knowledge with you.
